Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

I recently joined the ecommerce company, Etsy, Inc as the VP of Finance, Planning & Analysis. I am working to build out the already strong team with motivated, analytical and creative financial problem solvers in a fast-paced data-rich technology company.

How would you define your professional mission?

My mission is to organize, synthesize and present data in the most compelling way to best aid management in strategic decision-making and to improve the overall financial success of a company. I love using data to make an impact.

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work?

In Finance, Planning and Analysis, it is important to present data in an unbiased, yet informative way.

What project have you worked on that you’re most proud of? Why?

I was recently coaching my daughter's soccer team for the third year in a row, and I am the only female coach. The mother of one of my players approached me after the game and said, matter-of-factly, "you have inspired me. I think I'll get trained to be a coach too." This.

What is your morning ritual?

I get up at 6am and run in Central Park while the coffee is brewing. I find it's best to go running before you have time to rethink it.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

I have two superpowers. I am extremely focused, productive and calm under pressure. And second, I am able to laugh at myself (this is probably more important).

What does success look like to you?

I feel very lucky right now to be working with numbers in a great company with great people.

What is the best career advice you ever received?
