Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

As an expert in Chinese medicine, a life coach, and a serial entrepreneur, I faced burnout multiple times throughout my career. This lead me to a concentration on helping other female entrepreneurs through burnout - the physical, mental, and emotional pieces of it. I currently have an acupuncture office in Midtown, Manhattan, coach online, and host a podcast called: FRIED - The Burnout Podcast where I share stories of women like you who have burnt out and recovered to tell the tale.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

The last meetup I was at was in Montclair, NJ and while I was there I was told that I should make the time to meet with another member, Sandra Lewis. I listened and I'm so glad I did. We had an immediate connection, an easy flowing conversation and I feel lucky to know her in my life. I'm a member for exactly these types of connections, they are rare but easier to find when you are already connected through a like-minded space like Ellevate :)

How would you define your professional mission?

My personal mission is to End Burnout Culture. We aren't getting less stressed with time, so we need to stay on top of every method we have to help ourselves transform it. I believe that too many women are held back because of the burdens of stress in their lives and I want to help them remove it so they can shine.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

Being interviewed on Polish prime time TV about acupuncture was a magical moment for me. It made me feel like someone was listening and felt like an amazing accomplishment to do an interview like that in a foreign language.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

I got here by burning out myself. It's the classic: I went through it so you don't have to story. I always followed my passions and was ambitious and successful so I couldn't figure out why I was burning out, what was 'wrong' with my choices. It took years of therapy, digging, self-coaching, journaling, and meditation for me to uncover the bulk of it (I'm sure there's more to be discovered :))

What is your favorite social media site? Why?

I love Instagram because it's fun and easy to connect.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

Being an intuitive and a psychic allows me to read inbetween the lines. Clients and patients always ask, "How did you know that? Are you inside my head? I wrote about that yesterday but hadn't told anyone yet!". I love when that happens because it happens most when I'm being instead of trying.

What does success look like to you?

Redefining success is one of the burnout management techniques. We can get so caught up in where we thought we were going that we push through to get there even though our needs and desires have changed. For me, currently (it's malleable!) success looks like enjoying my life while I work and having the space, time, and money to play.

Is work-life balance a problem for you? What is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?

I'm not sure work-life balance exists. It seems to be a mythological creature that everyone is chasing and some have claimed to find, but the evidence is lacking. My work is well woven into my life. I am always thinking about personal improvement, personal development, and spiritual development. People 'turn off' or say they do on weekends, but my curious mind is always looking for new and better ways to present information that will help more people. This isn't one of the reasons behind my burnout - this is just love. :)
