Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

I’m a style coach and virtual stylist. I work with women entrepreneurs and executives to help them find their signature style and dress to their unique personal brand. At the ripe old age of 8 I knew I wanted a career in fashion. I worked in NYC’s fashion industry moving through the ranks from women’s shoe buyer to product developer to merchandiser and everything in between. After 15+ years in the industry I decided to pivot and spend some quality time with my daughter while going after my entrepreneurial dream. In November of 2013 I launched 344pm- an online personal styling consultancy start up.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

The sense of community and camaraderie I’ve found at Ellevate is like no other. I continue to build long lasting genuine relationships. When I was asked to be on the leadership team of Ellevate Northern New Jersey I replied with a resounding yes. My favorite memory so far is hosting the Ellevate Northern NJ’s year end give back event. We featured local non-profits that give back to women and girls in the community. Attendees at the event were engaged and involved. After the event we received notes from the nonprofit leaders on how the event enabled them to make new connections, get the word out about their organization, receive donations and so much more. I’m so grateful to be a part of an organization that has a direct impact on our community.

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work?

The main quality is the ability to listen. Style is personal and unique. It’s important to listen and understand my client’s unique story, her likes / dislikes, her thoughts on body image and overall hear who she really is. Once I know that I can then identify her personal style and create a wardrobe that truly represents who she is and showcases her personal brand.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

As a product developer for the Macy’s men’s private label brand Club Room I led the development and sourcing team that created a bestselling key item men’s polo shirt. Year after year this item surpassed its sales and profit goals. 12 years later I love walking into a Macy’s store and still seeing that polo shirt on the sales floor and thriving.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing the instantaneous confident smile of a client I just styled. I once had a client tell me she finally felt fulfilled and comfortable with how she looked and felt. I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to give her that.

What is your favorite social media site? Why?

LinkedIn. It’s a great place to stay in touch with colleagues and clients. LinkedIn also gives me the opportunity to best support them in their professional endeavors.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

Methodically tackling a “to do” list like it’s no one’s business.

What does success look like to you?

I don’t believe that success can ever be fully attained. Life is full of learning and success is built on learning. Success to me is a jumbled path of learning from mistakes, challenges accepted, closed doors, open doors, having an impact, leading with empathy and knowing you’ve done your best.

What is the best career advice you ever received?

“Always do your best.” It’s a lesson my father taught me and has served me well in life and my career.

What is one piece of advice you’d offer working moms?

It took me a while to understand this but I finally learned that I can’t focus on everything and everyone at the same exact time. As a working mom I wear many hats and it's impossible to wear all those hats at once. So I wear one (or two sometimes) at a time and shift my focus throughout the day. Some days my focus is on my clients and some days my focus is on my family.
