Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

I'm a business strategist & finance coach helping entrepreneurs identify, understand and track key data to drive financial growth and support better decision making. I have spent the last 19 years in Business Intelligence where my extensive background has allowed me to work with various companies helping them develop custom dashboards & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). I also work with individuals & families identifying best practices for personal finance that will have them winning in business finance and vice versa. My project for 2020 is launching a Personal Finance online course that will help more people towards their goal of financial freedom.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

The privilege to speak to Young Ellevate Professionals on how to assert themselves and use their voice in the workplace. I joined Ellevate to meet other professionals and to share tips and lessons learned from my own experience.

How would you define your professional mission?

To help women learn sound money management principles and build wealth regardless of age or income.

What project have you worked on that you’re most proud of? Why?

Leading an interactive training class for 80-100 sales professionals. Looking back at this experience, it prepared me for where I am now and where I want to be - preparing content/ curriculum for business (personal) finance.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

I’ve spent the last 19 years in Business Intelligence where my extensive background has allowed me to work with various companies helping them develop custom metrics for their operational health. I now focus on teaching businesses the key metrics to track for their business and teaching individuals on the key numbers to track their financial health.

What is your morning ritual?

I have morning devotion and prayer first thing in the morning, then some days go for a run listening to a business podcast, if I’m commuting, I’m always reading a business book. I always write the 3 main things I want to accomplish in the day and then my workday can truly begin.

What is your favorite social media site? Why?

Instagram. I’m focussing on one platform at a time instead of trying to show up on all platforms while I’m still a one-woman shop.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

Talking about money is still not the most embraced conversation in society today. My superpower is taking various money topics and breaking them down into related, easily digestible, fun-size pieces.

What does success look like to you?

A mantra that I say to myself every day is “success is compounded.” I’m not looking for overnight success but look to show up and serve my clients every day and build on what I did the day before and on and on and on.

Is work-life balance a problem for you? What is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?

I don’t believe in work-life balance, per se, but work-life integration. We all have a finite amount of time in a day (24 hours) so that means whatever time I spend on work cannot be spent on my personal life. I’m okay with that knowledge since sometimes my business may take most of my time when working on a project but I make sure right after the project is over to take some time to do something fun or just relax.
