Confident Career Woman, Ericka Spradley Kicks Off "2020 Career Mentor Program"
10 years ago, Harvard Business Review published “The Female Economy.” In the article, you’ll find a section ‘Overburdened and Overwhelmed’ that specifically states: “We’ve seen that women don’t make enough time for themselves.”
It was true in 2009 and it’s also true as we approach 2020. Because women don’t necessarily prioritize themselves, it impacts them both personally and professionally - which Ericka can certainly attest to. Women recognize the importance of mentoring and they actually desire it. The unfortunate reality is the question “Will I have enough time?”
Over the years, Ericka has worked extensively with women to help them achieve their career goals. Whether it’s strategy sessions to better manage their career, master the interview, get promoted or simply prepare for conversations with leaders and/or those more senior – the challenge of time has to be assessed. She states, “We can’t change the measure of time, but we can change how we manage it, what we give our attention to, how we prioritize and how we can creatively maximize time.”
This inspired an option that allows her to offer guidance, support and actionable steps within one calendar month for ambitious women who are committed to their career success. According to Ericka, “Historically speaking, 63% of women have never had a formal mentor and that has to change.”
Because mentoring benefits include, but of course are not limited to:
- Accountability for goal achievement
- Increased social capital
- Confidence gains
Ericka is committed to offering support in a way that not only ensures mentorship happens, but that also doesn’t feel like “one more thing to do” courtesy of time constraints.

As a planner who didn't have a plan, I interviewed successfully throughout my career before obtaining a college degree. In essence, my ability to interview served as my lifeline prior to college graduation MUCH later in life. I knew a career change would... Continue Reading
