Confident Career Woman’s Ericka Spradley Advances Mentoring Through Text Messaging
Ericka Spradley, Chief PowHer Officer/Founder of Confident Career Woman, LLC is leveraging text messaging to help women advance their career.
Earlier this year, Ericka launched a Career Mentor Program designed to not only help women go further faster, but to simultaneously do so in less time. Although she personally understands the pressure associated with “too much to do and not enough time”, Ericka is on a mission to ensure women don’t neglect their development as they continue to seek balance amidst time constraints along their journey to success.
According to an article published by The Atlantic, the most concerning issues for women are:
- Work-life balance
- Equal pay
- Career opportunities
- Children and career
With this in mind, Ericka sends tools and career resources 1-2 times per month directly to her community via text. She states:
“We’re mobile and we’re wearing multiple hats. I work with women who are married, who have children, who volunteer, work full-time, are caregivers, are pursuing certifications and are trying to figure out how to care for themselves as well as their careers in the process. In knowing that I can offer some form of mentorship that might take them 15 min/month and better position them for career success - offering this option simply makes sense.”
