Gerusa Maso Recognized as a Community Builder of 2019 by The Garra & The NY Women's Foundation
Gerusa Maso has been recognized by The Garra & The NY Women's Foundation for her work in amplifying the Brazilian arts and entrepreneurial community in New York.
Since I arrived in New York, I've dedicated a huge amount of my time to empower the Brazilian Immigrant community, especially artists and small-business entrepreneurs.
The huge lack of opportunity and sense of belonging that the Brazilian community struggles with is, to me, an opportunity to empower our amazing artists and entrepreneurs with my skills and knowledge in the hospitality field. As a result, after 2 years in New York, I've become a reference when it comes to promoting Brazilian arts and culture, and in November 2019 I won The Community Builder Award powered by The Garra & The NY Women's Foundation. Today, I'm leading events and raising funds to support Brazilian artistic excellence in New York.
