Ellevate Chapter Leader Launches Op Ed Division to Showcase Thought-Leadership Thinking

The Boreland Group Inc., a full-service public relations agency led by CEO Jennefer Witter, an Ellevate Chapter Leader, today announced the launch of a new op-ed division. The Boreland Group: The Op-Ed Division will provide writing and editing services as well as placements for all pieces, allowing clients the opportunity to weigh in on critical issues, showcase thought-leadership thinking, and amplify their brand in a substantive manner.

“We have seen a significant increase in clients requesting op-eds as part of their communications plan,” noted Witter, who founded The Boreland Group 20 years ago. “By formalizing this work into a standalone division, participants will be able to influence opinion; get business-building recognition for original perspectives; and contribute to conversations that align with their business goals.”

The Boreland Group has a proven track record in writing and placing opinion pieces. “We have placed multiple op-eds in outlets such as Newsweek, Reuters, The Hill, Ms Magazine, and the Austin American-Statesmen,” said Witter. “We have also secured placements in NBC Think, The Washington Post, USA Today and HuffPost.

“Contributed content is gaining immense traction as opportunities for earned media lessen as print media continues to contract and opportunities for placement become fewer,” Witter continued. Doug Whiteman, the editorial director at Forbes Advisor, noted in a recent LinkedIn post that “Northwestern University recently reported that more than 360 newspapers – and their websites – have shut down since just before the start of the pandemic.”

“Regardless of the current news situation, our Op-Ed Division will provide an opportunity for our clients to be published outside the earned media arena, thus allowing their views to be shared to a broader audience,” noted Witter.

Individual opinion pieces cost $3,500, which includes one interview, two revisions and placement. A package of three costs $10,000, a savings of $500. To learn more about which option works best for you, contact Jennefer Witter at to arrange a consultation.
