Ellevate Network Announces New Global Monthly Holding Space Forum for the Hispanic/Latina/Latinx Community in time for National Hispanic Heritage Month

Ellevate Network, the largest community of women+ at work, will be unveiling its newest Holding Space Forum for the Hispanic/Latina/Latinx Community on September 20, 2022.

Just in time for National Hispanic Heritage Month, Ellevate Network latest Holding Space, or community forum, invites Hispanic, Latina, & Latinx women to come together and discuss the issues they face and to provide each other with support. The Hispanic community and handpicked thought leaders will facilitate small group discussions about any and everything that affects our lives in today's climate. This latest Holding Space is one of many that Ellevate Network offers monthly, with spaces for Black women, 40+ year old professionals, and the LGBTQIA community.

The host, Sofia B. Pertuz, PhD, SHRM-SCP, is a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) professional with over 25 years of higher education, nonprofit, and corporate experience. Sofia is Managing Director for DEI for Billie Jean King Enterprises and the founder of Mainstream Insight LLC, leading organizations towards inclusive excellence. Ms. Pertuz described, “As a Latina professional, I know too well the identity based challenges we face. However, my coaching and research experiences have allowed me to see how resilient and resourceful we are. My mission is to empower Latinas to thrive in all aspects of their lives; coming together as a community fosters an environment where we can share our support and strategies with each other.”

Ellevate Network is excited to work with Sofia to address overwhelming member demand for a space where Hispanic women can connect and grow together.

In fact, Ellevate Network’s new CEO, Maricella Herrera Avila, is ready to tackle the problem. She says, “Hispanic and Latina women make up just 1.6% of senior executives in the nation’s largest companies. We’re underrepresented as managers and as professionals. This needs to change. As a Latina, I’m very proud that Ellevate is creating this safe space.”

Ellevate Network is passionate about continuing to be a DEI leader with this new space, and more to come. For any media or partnership inquiries, please contact ssolivio@ellevatenetwork.com.
