92nd Street Y and Ellevate Network Launch Video Series to Give Voice to Women Leaders
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Yesterday, 92nd Street Y (92Y) and Ellevate Network announced the launch of their dynamic “Women Who Lead” video series, spotlighting women leaders in business, finance, technology and media. The series features Ellevate Network's Chair, Sallie Krawcheck and other female executives and entrepreneurs, such as Ellyn Shook and Natalia Oberti Noguera.
The “Women Who Lead” series is being released in conjunction with the upcoming launch of 92Y’s new Women inPower, a cross-sector fellowship program designed to help up to 20 women advance to the next stage of their careers: the C-suite. Nominations for the Class of 2016 open this September. Asha Curran, Director of 92Y’s Center for Innovation and Social Impact, states, "92Y is proud to launch this initiative in partnership with Ellevate Network to amplify the voices of remarkable and diverse women leaders. Our goal is to inspire women at every stage of their careers, and to see more women propelled to the uppermost levels of leadership, where they are still so sorely underrepresented.”
Sallie Krawcheck, Chair of Ellevate Network, says, “To celebrate women leaders is to celebrate diversity. And what I love about this video series is that each leader brings her unique experience, expertise and advice in a way that we hope will inspire other women to advance their careers or start a new business. We felt that working with 92nd Street Y and its Women inPower Fellowship was a natural partnership to give voice to a diverse group of women in business.” Ellevate Network is a collaborative community and educational resource for professional women who create, inspire and lead.
The “Women Who Lead” lineup includes some of today’s most influential and successful women in business. A new video will be released each Tuesday from now through September 1, and Ellevate Network’s own Sallie Krawcheck kicks off the series; her video brings into sharp focus the power of diversity in the workplace.
Another featured leader in the series is Ellyn Shook, Chief Human Resources Officer at Accenture, who also serves on the executive committee of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest. Shook gives invaluable advice on career advancement.
Susan Bratton--a veteran of Wall St. and the Founder and CEO of Meals to Heal, a nutrition platform for cancer patients--shares savvy negotiation advice for women.
Jennefer Witter, named by Madame Noire as one of the country’s top ten black entrepreneurs and CEOs, is founder and CEO of The Boreland Group, Inc., a public relations agency. She highlights communication skills that command respect in the workplace.
Natalia Oberti Noguera, who was named one of the “55 most influential women on Twitter” by Fortune, is founder and CEO of Pipeline Fellowship, which is a women’s bootcamp for angel-investing. She offers insights on raising capital for female entrepreneurs.
Additional featured leaders include Geri Stengel, President of Ventureneer, a digital media and market research company that provides education and training to small businesses and nonprofits; Susan Avarde, who is the former Head of Global Brand at Citigroup Inc. & CitiWoman and a public speaker on megatrends and engagement; and Amanda Steinberg, a personal finance expert and the founder and CEO of DailyWorth.com, a financial media company.
