Chapter Program Manager
Rachel Maïga is thrilled to be a Chapter Program Manager for Ellevate Network, where she works with Chapter Leaders and their local chapters in addition to establishing and growing new chapters across the country.
Rachel earned degrees in French, World Religions, and International Relations from Hope College. She began her career and passion for women's empowerment in West Africa while studying the links between women’s roles and their effects on development indicators in Mali. After taking a career detour through administration and customer experience, Rachel is excited to once again be working towards the greater good for women.
Based in Chicago, Rachel lives with her husband and two-year-old daughter. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, feeding her insatiable love of reading, learning languages, and collecting trivial information.
Female role model: Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
Favorite Ellevate memory: At our team offsite in the fall of 2017, we played a murder mystery game. Thinking about us all laughing, sipping champagne, shivering in the night air, and taking the time to do something silly together makes me smile.
Favorite books: The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver and Le Petit Prince par Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Favorite sport: soccer (I dare you to try to score a goal on me!)
