Director of Communications
Tina Pettigrew’s creativity and people-first approach are what make her such a dynamic Director of Communications at Ellevate.
Tina leads Ellevate's incredibly talented and hard-working Communications Team to focus on impact-driving projects that enable the business to grow in a sustainable way. She also owns Ellevate’s voice, focusing on why we do what we do and how Ellevate can help you and change the world.
Tina has led the development of the creative for the Ellevate's key marketing campaigns since 2015 (Invest in Yourself, Female Role Model, Own It, Take Back Feminism, Your Squad, My Year (31 Reasons to Be a Part of the Ellevate Community), Mobilize Women, Redefine Activism, Money Moves, We Know Her), providing a strong base for the business to grow to the point it's at now. She cultivates partnerships that are mutually beneficial and speak to Ellevate's Values, and writes relevant content that the Ellevate community needs (like this Equal Pay Day Guide, Ellevate's Top Resources for Professional Women, and this homage to Female Role Models).
Tina has a reputation for honest and respectful communication, creative problem solving, high quality content creation/ strategy, true brand building, and the development of thought leadership that leads to positive business outcomes. She led the projects of articulating Ellevate Network's Values & Guiding Principles and developing The Member Pledge.
Prior to joining the Ellevate team, Tina worked for a number of esteemed institutions including the United Nations, the NYU/Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture, Workforce Professionals Training Institute and the YMCA, where her experience ranged from human rights advocacy and law to professional development and training, with a focus on social media marketing and customer relationship management. She earned her MA in Bioethics from New York University as well as a BA in Health Science, with a concentration in Business, from the University of Florida.
In her spare time, Tina trains in MMA, chats with her 101 year old grandmother, cuddles her dog and cat, and makes a mean dark-chocolate pistachio sea salt granola.
